| Ikamatua,
which means "Mother Fish" in Maori, is located
on the West Coast of New Zealand's South Island. The Coast is
world renowned for its, wild rustic appeal. Rugged
coastlines combined with sprawling native bush offer a
contrast of scenery unavailable anywhere else. Ikamatua
is formed around sprawling native bush, hills and rivers.
Three rivers join into one at "Iky." Ikamatua
is not considered a main fishing destination ... which
creates a distinct advantage ! Anglers who
take time to stay and fish here leave with wonderful,
memorable, lifetime experiences.
John Boyles has been fly
fishing for 34 years, 20 of which in the Ikamatua region.
He has been a professional guide for the last 10 years
and is the longest service guide who resides in the area. His expert
knowledge of the fishery and its conditions, as well as
his fly tying and casting instruction to both the novice
and advanced angler, helps to create a complete fishing
experience. Sighted
fishing and stalking trout when conditions allow. Very
patient instruction on fly casting, novice to advanced
anglers.
